I sold my Pixel 6a and  bought a Pixel 4 XL in 2023 

I know what you’re thinking: “A Pixel 4XL? That’s an old phone!”

But hear me out. The Pixel 4XL is still a great phone, even in 2023. It has a large, beautiful display, a powerful processor, and a great camera.

The Pixel 4XL also has a few features that make it stand out from other phones. For example, it has a face unlock feature that is very fast and accurate. It also has a Google Assistant that is always listening and ready to help you with whatever you need.

I’ve been using the Pixel 4XL and I’m still very happy with it. It’s a great phone that I would recommend to anyone.

Here are some of the reasons why I think the Pixel 4XL is still the best choice in 2023:

• It has a large, beautiful display. The Pixel 4XL has a 6.3-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 3040 pixels. The display is very sharp and vibrant, and it’s great for watching videos or playing games.
• It has a powerful processor. The Pixel 4XL is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. This is a powerful processor that can handle heavy tasks.
• It has motion sense where you can control the phone with hand gestures and the radar detects your presence,by the time you reach the phone it unlocks and keeps the phone ready.The soli radar does not work in some countries.Google spent almost 5 years in designing and testing Soli project but unfortunately it didn’t worked well initially.later they improved a lot with updates and fixes.
• Pixel 4 and 4XL are the only phones with soli radar and it has got the best haptic and vibration motors.
• It has a great camera. The Pixel 4XL has a dual-lens rear camera system with a 12.2-megapixel main sensor and a 16-megapixel telephoto sensor. The camera takes great photos in all conditions
• Pixel 4 series has neural engine which mainly processes some machine learning and other stuff.The neural engine processes HDR as fast as it can and by the time you click the shutter the image is ready with HDR processed.
• It has a fast face unlock feature. The Pixel 4XL has a face unlock feature that is very fast and accurate. You can unlock your phone just by looking at it, which is very convenient.
• It has a always-listening Google Assistant. The Pixel 4XL has a Google Assistant that is always listening and ready to help you with whatever you need. You can ask the Assistant to do things like set alarms, play music, or get directions.

Why i Sold my Pixel 6a and bought a 2019 Pixel 4 XL

Pixel is the best smartphone with amazing features.Pixel 6a is a budget phone and i want to try the flagship from google and in my view Pixel 4 XL is the true flagship.Google haven’t properly  optimised their  computational photography for tensor.Here are some images shot on pixel 4 XL

Pixel 4 XL dominates pixel 6a in almost all the times.Pixel 6a,7a takes some time to process images and the image you see in the view finder is completely different from the result you get it’s all because the image processing happens background where as in the Pixel 4 Xl it has dedicated image processing chip which helps in Live HDR processing.

The Quad HD+ display is amazing with a 90hz refresh rate.Im enjoying the haptics of this phone.I’ve bought a 2019 phone but it’s a big upgrade from Pixel 6a.Battery life is average im getting 4-5 hrs of screen on time.Adaptive battery may improve with time and usage i’ll update the usage here after some days.The only downside is i won’t get latest android updates anymore as the support of this phone ended.The device is currently on October 2022 patch.Google has released one last update in February 2023 which improved device performance a lot.

Conclusion

Overall, the Pixel 4XL is a great phone that I would recommend to anyone. It has a large, beautiful display, a powerful processor, a great camera, and a few features that make it stand out from other phones. If you want to experience true pixel flagship  the Pixel 4XL is a great option.
